Title: Locked Threads

Here too? wow...ok

Lobo thread, he can give it out, so he should be able to take it too, right? Ok, whatever...

It must be quite difficult for leaf. Lobo can get away with it because IStock is his backyard.

I guess leaf had to close down the thread as he's got to be even handed here, and if it was anyone else being insulted it would have been locked (even if in our opinion Lobo deserved it as he's treated others much worse in the past).

Leaf has to be even handed even if other people aren't on their own forums. I like to think of it as not stooping to Lobo's level.

It turned into a personal attack and quite rightly he locked the thread. I mean its quite naive, Lobo is probably just as pissed off as anybody else.

I just got unbanned over at IS after 2 months even though I was told it would be for 1 week.  The email they sent to say I was unbanned said that Kelly (contributor relations) talked to her manager and Lobo first, so it appears that Lobo is not the only one calling the shots over there.

To be fair I don't think it's really on to go into this again.
If those who don't think positively about someone are not free to express their opinions it hardly seems right that those who do think positivity are allowed to hijack the conversation. It will give a very misleading impression (and result in a lot of people sitting round grinding their teeth because their side of the conversation is effectively gagged).
It would probably be best to leave the whole subject alone for now.

The way in which Leaf handled the thread, and the responsible way he closed it down, should be noted over at Istock. Moderators are free to close threads, but the last word from the moderator should not be a snarky personal attack followed by revoking forum rights so there can be no response.

Or perhaps Leaf was worried about his IS sales and his Google PR.

Of course. Anybody can ban me, but I experienced some very sneaky and cowardly behavior from Leaf (thanks Keith from Zymmetrical for telling me by email), and I'm not the only one. That's why I don't post here much any more. And for the record, I don't care who Lobo is.

Well FD, I miss your honest snarkyness (it's a compliment)

I think leaf did well. Hate posts and personal attacks shouldn't be allowed. An neither singling out people's works, no matter with wich "excuse".

I closed it down because I was worried the culture here would be accustomed to feeling it was OK to attack someone personally.  Which it is not.  There are plenty of negative iStock threads, I think if iStock was going to push my sales into the ground they would have done so long ago.

Are you referring to this thread? ... otherwise I'm lost???

I probably shouldn't have 'outed' Zymmetrical so quickly I suppose, but that was also before I was acquainted with them. I feel I have a good relationship with Keith - Zymmetrical advertised on MicrostockGroup from Feb. 2009 until they close shop at the end of the year.

I am disappointment to hear I am perceived as "sneaky and cowardly"  I try hard to be quite the opposite, transparent and sticking to my convictions.  So either I screwed up somewhere, I am doing something (that something being sneaky and cowardly) I am totally unaware of or there is a miscommunication somewhere.  I am happy to hear your thoughts as to when you felt I was (or am) sneaky and cowardly.

What I mean is that it is hardly fair for the conversation to continue if it is to be entirely one sided. Reread the post, it's pretty straight forward.
