"He currently sells the rights to about 50,000 images a year, and has licensed over 500,000 during his lifetime."

Ah, I remember when I licensed 500,000 images. Lol.

Very underwhelming.  I'm nowhere near one of the 'big boys',  have less than 3000 images and have licenced over 160,000 on Shutterstock alone.

Hopefully his ODD's, ED's, and SOD's didn't disappear with SS's new package...at 38 cents that's only $19,000 a year. With a port of 20,536 images it seems low to me, even though most of it is editorial.

"Though he made more money in years past, he is doing okay today." That I believe.

Yeah, there appears to be some problems with some of the facts in that article.

So with 2K images and 10K downloads per year I am not doing that bad then. LOL

Yep, I am approaching 700000dls just on the top 5 sites, and am nowhere near being one of the "top" (these are the only ones I can track numbers for easily).

I guess he made a lot of his 500000 sales in the "good old days" so that's how he has made so much more money despite less downloads :(

eta also just checked and have been breaking 100000 dls per year for the last three years (compared to his 50000), though declined in 2014 and likely to slip below 100000 for 2015.

OMG, is that all I will make when I get to 20,000 files?  I think I'll turn the camera off today and go get in the pool.  8)

Over 10 million in 30 years is quite good. 300k annually. Well done.
