Hi!

Will be making a couple of montage images to submit to FT, SS, iS, and DT, so I can choose whatever image size is best. Having a hard time finding what image size to use to be guaranted to have the images in the largest possible size at all sites..

I found that iS XXXL is 5441x3809, but what about the other ones?

Can you guys help me out here?

Each site has different requirements so you have to do your research on each site. It's not always easy to find that info these days, it is buried in with lots of other information. Here's what they say on DT in the "Sell Your Images" page -

Q WHAT REQUIREMENTS DO YOU HAVE?

A All files must be uploaded in JPG format, RGB, free of noise or any other artifacts, with a minimum size of 3 MP and a maximum of 70 MP. Further instructions are given on the Upload file page.

Why would you want to give away multiple images for the price of one?

Be careful..when uploading montages, be sure to strip out the camera data. All of my work is composites, and when I first started submitting work, where I dropped several images onto large canvases, I got rejections saying that I had up-sized my photos.  The reviewers were looking at my camera data and noticed that my camera couldn't produce images that big. Ever since, I drop all of my work into a new file that has no data before submitting.

Maybe your question wasn't easy to answer exactly.

Are you asking, if you wanted one size for all the sites, "FT, SS, iS, and DT" that was the largest size they offer? That might be a little complicated.

Some sites will upsize your uploads to a larger offering. Which may make you think, you need to upload that size, but you don't.

Noone that knows the size requirements?

Interesting Rimglow. Care to say which specific sites? I had a stitched panorama rejected on SS for "poor rasterizatrion", which may have been true. But it was 17 images from a smaller resolution camera, stitched into a huge panorama, and then reduced.

If the camera data was a problem and quick one click rejection, I might be stripping data in the future. Not that I do many of these, I usually have a good camera with me. But just for information...

Which site(s) have you experienced this?

Are you asking about universal minimum size or average size people upload. I think minimum accepted everywhere is 6M and people upload usually something between 8M-12M.

Noted I'll add to the watch list.  8)

Back to the OP if you could please explain what the question is, it might be easier to answer. Maybe I'm being thick, but I don't understand?

"what image size to use to be guaranted to have the images in the largest possible size at all sites"

I'm guessing it's what is the maximum size level for licensing that each site offers to buyers? Which isn't that simple, since they offer larger than original at some sites.

What max size are you willing to sell for 35 cents?  Are you are okay getting 35 cents for a 70mp composite?  (or 25 cents on Canstock...)
