Hi Everyone :D
Just curious... does anyone have a list of all the microstock agencies that are going to be at this meeting? ;)

what about istock?

Good question. Do you know who is coming from there? There isn't anyone on the speaker list and the contact list that was shared doesn't have anyone on it either?!
-
just got the official word from Lee. Nobody from iStock is coming :(
They closed their office in Berlin so perhaps it was more effort than they wanted to exert. too bad. They are a sponsor however - nice to see that.

They consider themselves Midstock nowadays. ::)
Interesting list, at least half of which I've never heard of.

Yeah, it looks like quite a few of those are German companies.. understandably

Is anybody coming from Getty? I can't believe they have completly abandoned the German market to the competition. What kind of signal are they sending to the exclusive German artists?
Fotolia and SS have offices and sales teams in Germany and the 300 million dollar istock business has no official represantation in the German language market with it's 100 million people?
What about istock and Getty's future in Europe?
I really don't understand their strategy. Is all their income going into servicing their debts?
I'm really confused...

I wonder how many other little micro companies there are around, e.g. n the UK, which I/most of us have never heard of. And whether they're worth even considering.

I can't say if that is a complete list however... I am just posting what is public info. There may be other agencies that attend that didn't want to be on the contact list and aren't speaking.

I actually doubt that Istock are still a '$300M business' nowadays. They've been shedding staff and shrinking for at least a couple of years now. The closing of the Berlin office was just part of that. I guess they must have decided that the costs of running it weren't justified by whatever revenue it generated.

I'm pretty sure Macrografiks will be there.
