Imagine:
All agencies would offer this:

1. New images on the top (first third) for 90 days, then directly the best sellers, most viewed.

2. Customer search:

a) Life search: We can see, what customers are searching LIFE and with which keywords!

We can see what customers were searching for in the last

b) 24 hours

c) 7 days

from most to less.

Collection views also listed and collection getting a ranking by views too. Here also NEW collection AND just new changed collections shown up directly on the top of a search - before the single images appear.

Best: We can click on a search keyword (real time/24h/7 days) and see:
1. Which images and collections are shown for the customer.
2. another link: All images we upload and includes that keyword, got listed for us as contributor.

With this information we can do a lot. not only changing relevant keywords, which we might forgot, but really relevant. And on this agency the changes appears DIRECTLY!
What are customers looking for? We can upload or take shots of it.

ALL THIS IS JUST A DREAM!

NO!

It newly exist on one agency, which changed so many things in the last month. Great job!

The problem is:
It is a POD site: photo4me.com

And we know, they are mostly sell images from UK. But they are working on expanding to US too.

I write this here to tell you, there are still agencies caring much on their artists and make it better for them. Something positive - needed in this time, isnt it?

Of course: For bigger agencies it will never be possible to do the same. But it would be nice, if some would try to follow this just partly - maybe with that 7 days ranking of keyword searches.

Funnily enough as I was reading your post, I was thinking, Photo4Me apparently already do this.

But you do know it's POS (prints), not a stock agency? So mostly pictorial images, not 'people pretending to do stuff'. Just a headsup for those who may not know the site.

I've long thought one of the many weaknesses of agencies is the data they provide us with. This proves they could do much better.

Hi ! I have landscape photography that I could sell. Is it worth it ? I mean what is the % royalties ? I'm from Canada. Can I be a contributor ? Thank you

It's not royalties, you set your own price.
Nothing to stop you contributing.

One thing IMO Photos4Me get very wrong is "too much clutter above the fold".
Admittedly, I have a small monitor with my desktop (1920x1080), but when I did a search, this was the screen I got, these tiny slivers at the bottom were all I could see of the actual photos:

What fold? the front page is 17 clicks to the bottom.  :o And I'm on a desktop with a good size monitor. Someone on a laptop would be scrolling down half way to the center of the Earth.

I'll look later, just what all of us wanted, yet another POD site to dilute all possible printed item sales. So I'll assume, the success of a few of them has made this the "next big thing", even if the new ones are too late.

I look forward to seeing what's searching and the stats.

FAA sells mostly to Americans - watch what's selling there.
ATM Photos4Me is mostly a UK site, so indeed 'we' did want it. I've only got one pic there, as they used to have a 'likes for position' system, but if they've stopped that now, I should send them some more.

Yes, that can be good or bad, considering my location? But I joined Society6 just the same. So if they are UK and they don't need USA photos, I'm probably not going to do very well, or at least not as well as people from the UK who understand thoughts and thinking better or have more appropriate images for that market. Nothing is impossible when there are some universal kinds of images as well?  :)

I think I should sign up just for the Photos4Me data for sales and searches? And unlike Stock, I wouldn't feel like I was competing with myself to try to attract the lowest price, at the lowest commission, like Microstock does. I can set prices in line with the other places, where I set my own prices.
