Title: minimur resolution
Post by: mupwi on October 07, 2011, 07:48
Hi all I have been out of stock photography for a few years now as my camera broke and haven't been able to replace it but am looking to get back into it now with the purchase of a new slr what are the requirements these days of the various sites with regard resolution? I don't want to get a 12MP camera just to find they now require 18MP or something like that

No, most microstock sites still require 4 MP, except a few which require 6 MP and Alamy which requires 8 MP.

Of course more megapixels means more ability to crop or downsize to reduce noise, but 12 MP are fine for all sites that I know and there's still room for some editing.
