I dont know if this is helpful or not but the Parade magazine that comes in the Newspapers here in the States uses a lot of stock images from various Agencies.
On the web you can look and tineye them here: http://www.parade.com/ (http://www.parade.com/)
So far I have found images from Alamy, Getty, Istock, Fotolia and SXC.hu (is SXC a free dl place?).
I have not found any of my images but maybe someone can find a tearsheet or use.

One of the reasons I read Parade is to look at all the stock pics used there. The advertisers seem to gravitate toward the old standard images that have been used forever. Maybe the older age demographics of Parade preclude other approaches. At least they look old to me -- and I'm over 70.

Yep, 100% free. It's actually where the site that got me started in stock all those years ago.

When you say 100% free, what do you mean? Do you mean they only get images from the free sections of the sites? The OP mentions SXC.hu which I think has free images, but even the ones from Getty are free?
