Title: Moneybookers vs. Paypal
Post by: common on April 15, 2008, 06:45
Hi,

I noticed in my last payout that paypal was taking a lot of the fees through bad currency rates and fees. I estimate that i lose about 10-15% of my income to paypal, which isn't ideal.

Has anyone had a better experience with moneybookers? Is moneybookers compatible with paypal?

I find moneybookers is much better than paypal.  Withdraw the same amount to each site and you will see the difference.

I'm very happy with Moneybookers. They behave like a bank, and operate under strict British banking regulations, while PayPal is just floating around on the internet, making their own rules.

Be aware that Moneybookers operate in Euro, which probably means that a Euro account makes most sense.

Until recently, I wasn't able to get money from PP in Brazil, now when can have it send to the credit card.  MB doesn't pay in Brazil either, but I have a bank account in UK where I can get paid (PP does not pay me in UK, I would need an account in the USA).

In fact both could pay in cheques in Brazil, I think, but bank fees are tremendous - a guy I know get his payments by sending funds from PP to a Brazilian company with offices in the USA, and they pay him in Brazil charging a 7% fee.  I don't like this scheme because it looks like money laundry to me.

Regards,
Adelaide

I don't join them, because Paypal doesn't pay in my country. First thing I check is if a stock agency will pay me through Moneybookers.
