Title: Most Efficient Sites for Vector Sales?
Post by: Activesocial on December 23, 2020, 06:46
Hello,
I am a vector illustrator. I have 1610 vector illustrations on SS. But I decided to upload my vectors to other stock web sites.

However, it takes considerable amount of time to upload all those vectors to other sites, so I want to know which sites are worthwhile of uploading.

Which sites are efficient with vector images sales? Please feel free to mention “not worthy sites” as well, if you know any.
Thanks.

Does it work for you?
I haven't even reached minimum payout there after 2,5 years and would delete my account if there was any easy way.

Granted, I gave up making vectors a long time ago, because the earnings from them didn't justify the time it takes to create them and now make photos only, but even on Shuttesrtock I've made much more from the 400 or so vectors I have than on Vectorstock, so it's hard for me to imagine that this site is really efficient for anyone? At least the upload process was fairly easy from what I remember.

We're you joking? Site with 23M vectors and they promote their 703,986 Free Vectors. Not like a free video or a free image, but 703,986 free vectors?

Ranked below Panther which, hey is Panther still in business? What's a .3 rank? Oh about $2 a month.

Worthy site would be Adobe Stock.

Use StockSubmitter, makes it very easy and time-saving to upload to multiple agencies at once.

How do you prepare your vector files for Stock Submitter? Do you embed keywords in EPS or JPG preview? How do they adapt your files to the different demands of the sites? Some of them wants them zipped some needs JPG preview separately some wants artboard size huge... so I wonder how can you upload vectors to multiple sites at once through a submitter app?

I often use 1200x1200 pt artboard size (which export as 5000x5000 JPG preview at 300 dpi). Simply keep the .eps and /jpg of the same name in 1 directory and StockSubmitter treats it as one file combo. The software allows you to embed, save, update and arrange keywords and other metadata to the accompanying JPG. After adding the metadata, you can upload each file to all agencies and then hit the Submit button. Stocksubmitter also zips files upon submission if the agency requires it. They also have specific options for certain agencies (even iStocks CV). It may take a day to get used to all the settings but once you get the hang of it, it saves you a ton of time.

I always export a 5000x5000 pixel JPG and that's suitable for all agencies. Shutterstock requires huge artboard size now but SS

Good to know, I thought it is more complicated but it all makes sense this way! Thanks!

Besides the sites already mentioned, I make surprisingly a nice amount on Canva (even without the double earnings they have now for some months).
I say surprisingly because only 10 percent of my portfolio is accepted there (~70 vectors) and I make almost as much as on AdobeStock (~700 vectors)
BUT review sometimes takes months and after many years I still have no idea what they accept and what not, they don't give you a rejection reason, and the contributor interface is pretty annoying too (for me at least).
So if you have strong nerves, you might want to give it a try.

And if you didn't bring them up, I never would have heard of the place, so don't be sorry. Nice to know I don't want to go there after looking and from others advise and comments.  :)
