Interesting read. I have to admit that it I find it a bit comical that an "old timer" in microstock is someone that started waaaaaay back in the good ol' days of 2004.

I would definitely agree with you that microstock is still very much an infant. There is a lot of growth to do, and with that comes some degree of uncertainty. But I'm also optimistic and think that what lies ahead is more good times. I read a magazine poll a few months back that suggested that 50% of graphic designers have made a purchase in microstock. Just imagine where we all could be when that other 50% gets their hands on this market.
I also like your take on the traditional photogs' views of microstock, particularly how they can see microstock as "either a very real threat or as a powerful ally." Sums up the situation nicely.
