Its always been hard to see where the pics you've sold have been used. My goto has been a google image search.

Recently started to use https://tineye.com/ and its been a good find. Usually gets me more results than a google reverse image search.

What else have you all been using and is there something similar for vidoes as well?

I have found that I get better results right-clicking on the image and search with google lens and then from there click on Find Image Source. Hope that helps!

Search google books for your name and user names. Also "copyright YOUR NAME"

Or your agency artist name. Both might appear in the credits in publications.  Use this for example:  https://www.google.co.uk/search?tbm=bks&hl=en&q=(your name here after the &q=) that's the search I use for DACS because it's the UK.  https://www.google.co.uk/search?tbm=bks&hl=en&q=photo+hodagmedia

One by one, my own images?

I really don't understand the searching tineye or Goggle, for images, by image. Lets say I have 5,000 images, and some are on one place and others another, what images do I search, then maybe find a use and then maybe find the source, which can be a partner or subscription, or someone left off the credits?

Isn't that a lot of time, to just see if maybe someone used an image?

Am I missing something?

I can only speak for myself, but for me I don't want to see "if" someone used an image. If the image has been bought,  obviously someone is using it, I already know that. I want to see how my images are being used. For me it helps me understand what customers are looking for. How has the image been used, was there text added to the image, was the image cropped, used as a banner? It helps me better understand what compositions to use in my images.
I don't search all images that have been sold in my ports, but I regularly search for the images that sell frequently. After all these are the images I want to learn from.

I like to view where an image is being used if it sells often or for a large amount. Often, the results will help me with future pictures I take. For example, if I sell a picture of a building and it is used over and over again to people using it for pressure washing, then I take more building or pressure washing pictures. That example hasn't happened but you get the idea...

Oh I hadn't thought of it that way. Yes, seeing where it's used and how, would be interesting. I thought people were trying to find uses, like the Alamy thing where, sometimes images turn up and there hasn't been a download anyplace.

Yes to that one too.

I should try with this one that has 30 DLs on SS and I never could figure out why or what for. It's not of the track, or the race or not pretty much anything to do with the sort. Just some dark clouds hanging over the track. I can't see anything attractive or interesting in the shot?

Thanks for the tip, tried this. The only issue is that google shows me the appendix where my name ks mountings and often not the place where the image is actually used

I second the thought that its usually good to see how an image was used. Can help come up with new ideas and often helps give ideas for new variations if the same pic. The process is hard for pics and i don't think there is any way to do this for videos.

I generally just search for images both licensed and those zoomed on Alamy & biggest sellers on the others using tineye Google images Google books & Amazon books.

I especially keep track of top magazines such as Travel + Leisure, Vogue (travel stories), Coastal Living etc to see how theyre used & for my bio & an occasional feel good - I try to check out recent travel mags at the library to see if in print or just online

And I keep a running list of UK books, magazines & now websites to use for DACS payback each year. I also do an advanced Google search with my name or pseudonym though it ends up with so many pages so I limit it by most recent few years & sites. Or Google images with my name so I can scan quickly. I sometimes search with my name & DK Fodors etc publishers that tend to use my photos.

Its nice to know where my images are used, but more importantly its good to learn how they are used. Where should I leave copy space? What locations do national magazines write about most frequently

No.
On YouTube, someone can use in their projects. On different TV channels or even in movies. I tracked a similar topic on other forums, usually the video was found by chance by one of the authors, and there could be videos from other authors. Now a lot of people create different videos from a bunch of footage bought on stocks, but its not clear how to search for your video.
