A Stan Pavlovsky clone?

Apparently he has been a director of Pond5 Media Ireland since 2015.
Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing but at least he hasn't been parachuted in from outside the industry.
Fingers crossed.

Well, for me Pond5's credibility is already rock bottom since they did some nasty stuff like Hyperstock and the "town hall meeting" with a commission cut for non-esclusives, so the damage is already done. Can this CEOmake things even worse? We'll see.

This is actually GREAT NEWS! he is very good choice!

Could you please tell us why you think this is great news?

Tom has taken the time to speak with artist including myself. He is a hard worker and wants to be fair. I hope that continues!

This from Gregg at Pond5:
Hey folks!
Some of you may have heard by now that Jason left Pond5 in May for a new opportunity. We reached many milestones under Jason’s leadership and we wish him and his family all the best in their new venture!
Taking on CEO duties will be Tom Crary, our CFO for six years. Many of you have met or spoken with Tom during his tenure here - either on the phone, in our office or at industry events like NAB. This is not an official press release, so I wanted to give you guys my unfiltered thoughts on this. Tom is someone who understands clearly that artists are the core of Pond5’s business. He is a sleeves-rolled-up kind of executive who has been in the industry for a while and knows our business inside and out. He’s got a sharp mind and a big heart. In working with him for six years I’ve often been surprised to see him personally taking calls, pulling data and explaining initiatives to individual artists, regardless of how large their portfolios were.
Tom understands that the Pond5 brand is intimately connected to our artists and content. The team here is energized to have him at the helm. So please join me in extending a hearty congrats to Tom. Here’s to moving forward together!

Glad he has a big heart, that's rare these days.
Thanks, Jneff.

Tom's background is finance (look at his degrees). He was previously Pond5's CFO, so not an outsider, but not really from the creative side of the business
I have only a few photos at Pond5 (I don't do video) and it's never been much as a photo site (although I just got paid yesterday, so it's reliable, just low volume), so I don't have anything much at stake here.
Finance people are clearly essential to keep a business thriving & on track. I have not, in general, seen it as good news when a CEO is a finance person.
