Hi everyone,
I just came by this new stock site: http://www.pngstock.com/

They have very few images but they say they offer up to 70% commission, the structure doesn't seem clear but it's better than 15%

Most of all, the site seems to have been done with Wordpress, does anyone reccognise the theme used? is it from http://graphpaperpress.com/ ?

thanks everyone!

Goofy

Hi guys,
with glad I found this post and would like to add some information about it.
I am one of the authors who worked on the construction of http://www.pngstock.com [nofollow], as mentioned on the site, pngstock has been designed and developed by sellers of images like you. And it is for this reason that we decided to pay all the authors with the highest royalty possible.
The site is obviously based on Wordpress, it has been online for a few weeks and there are only very few PNG images as an example.
Currently we are looking for skilled authors who want to create new PNG images and put them up for sale.
Greetings.

This isn't a bad idea at all. Coming from a graphic artist art director background, I know the hard working graphic ppl would love this. I always wondered why this has never been done.

I also always wondered why pics with a solid color background are called "isolated" on stock sites. Always wanted to just call them - the site and/or the technically undereducated photographers: "Let me tell you as a photoshop professional: No, it's not isolated. If I want to put it over something I have to do masking, becasue it's one with it's background. Got it? Thanks"

Good luck with that :)

I registered on the site yesterday. I agree with Topol that it might be a good idea. Dreamstime sold PNGs as I recall, I don't know what success they've had with them. As a vectorist and 3D renderer it is very easy for me to create rasters in the PNG format with a transparent alpha channel - a lot easier than it is for photographers to create 'isolated' subjects. I always feel like I am cheating my customers when I upload JPGs when I could be uploading PNGs, which would be more usable.

I used to have a few transparent PNGs on Dreamstime, but people bought the white JPEG versions anyway. I guess they didn't want to pay extra.

I sell quite a few pngs on DT but always either sub or EL neither of which garner extra $$

Some of my sales were subs. Why didn't the buyers get the transparent additional format? I assumed because it wasn't available to them.

Is the ability to get PNGs with subs a new-ish thing?

Why do you sell other people works? It's not ok to buy a vector file from another site and then do it PNG for sale.

You're right, but sales of the images are not currently active. Your image has been regularly purchased and used to create a sample image to make users understand the potential of PNG images (transparencies, light reflections, layout...).
Do not worry, we will remove it early start selling images.

Dear friend, you may register and upload your PNG images ...

Yes micaeldb, you have just hit the point. Png images with alpha channel are undoubtedly more usable. Also, why sell thousands of times an image with a white background and then forcing buyers to waste time to remove it? It is much smarter to sell the image without background.
