I got mail from www.wantimages.com (http://www.wantimages.com):
Wantimages.com is a new royalty free stock photography agency and we are looking for photographers to join our site.
It's free to join. Whether you are a professional or amateur and have images sitting around on your hard drive, get them uploaded and make the images work for you.
We are also offering a bonus for photographers to sign up and upload images a very generous 90% commissions on all sales for life. Hurry this offer will not be on forever.
Please submit your photos, the more the better. The more images you have the higher the chance of sales.
Every photographer also gets their own portfolio page and blog.
Any idea?

Sound very scammish to me. After a lot of people have uploaded images are they going to change the site's name to www.gotimages.com (http://www.gotimages.com), to be able to sell them? :o

No address, whois directs to their host provider, 041... phone? Anonymous about...

On main page - we pay 90% commission, in the about area "Wantimages.com is unique in its approach by offering photographers 80% earnings from each sale. For photographers who exclusively sell through us we offer a generous 80% return on sales."
Can not see how they can succeed where clearly more organized and experienced entrants could not. I will not bother with them for at least another 6 months and then see if they are still there (doubt it).

I also received the email. Gmail transfered it directly on the spam folder.

I second on that. These bright marketers sent out spam email where they exposed hundreds of photographers email addresses. Nice. And did it from a fake spamming account. Thank you for sending spammers on my way. I'm really grateful. That's not the way how serious agencies make business. If they don't manage to handle their correspondence how would they manage to handle and protect our digital files? These guys have no glue what they are doing. And if they know exactly what they are doing then it's better to stay away from them.

just got the email from hibob123 <[email protected]> - my computer decided it was junk mail :)
see he now has 2307 images and about 500 photographers signed up
