I went to their site link . It looks very Jr. league. They also on ArtArena don't list their address. Maybe another Iranian photo stock site?

Image search doesn't work properly.
Images are poor.
Site looks like not ready.
Pricing is some kind of joke...

In addition to the stuff mentioned already, their FAQ mentions that if they sell printed works, they get the money for the print and the contributor gets 70% of the media price only.

The site doesn't appear to be targeting buyers - the first thing you see above the photo is the promotion aimed at contributors.

Perhaps it's just a test site for someone - it honestly doesn't seem serious. StandArt License? ArtTributor?

And look at the supplier agreement - it includes rights to bundle uploaded images (not sure how that squares with the artists setting prices) and subscriptions. There's also a rather too-long period (IMO) for image removal

There is an address in Glendale, but doesn't really say anything about who is behind this site and why they expect anyone would buy from them. Given the images currently there are about on par with most of the free sites out there, I think 99 cents is expensive

I have seen images there on other stock sites:

When I dragged the images into the text window, the addresses came up as "artarena.yaymicro.com"

Very interesting. Thoughts?

Other images come up with different addresses. This one doesn't have "yaymicro," just "artarena."

I seem to have an awful lot of images on the site -with no idea how they got there. If I had to guess I would say they are from Yay, as borne out by Ava's post above. I'd try dragging the image into the text box as Ava suggests -if I had the faintest idea what that means or how to do it! What's especially concerning is that none of my images are atributed to me (either user name or real name) and actually say "Owner: ArtArena". The prices are lousy and there is no way I can set my own higher prices because I am not registered as a contributor there.
What is strange, though, is that Yay have always been very upfront about API partners, what the terms are and giving an individual opt out for each partner. Arena are not on their list of partners however. My guess, and it is just that, is that maybe the images have been distributed on to Arena by one of Yay's many partner sites -which would explain why it's not on their list.
Anyone else got loads of images there or an alternative idea of where they came from? Guess, I'll have to contact Arena/Yay if nothing becomes clearer. Not what I needed on January 1st really -but a good chance to wish everyone here a very happy and successful 2015. Regards, David.

I was talking about the text box used to make a post here. You can also drag an image into a search bar. It has to be the image in the buy page with the pricing, not the page of thumbnails.

About pricing, Yay says image distributors can set the prices they want, as long as YAY approves.

I had a look through your Shutterstock portfolio and I can assure you that none of the stuff that prompted my snarky comment above was your work

I shouldn't have have let my tongue loose, but the general point stands I think, that the impression you get when looking at any of the image categories is very different from what you see at the top tier agencies.

I had found my images there also. I think they might really be from yay, except editorial ones and vectors are not there.

Also preview images have the same number in name and urls have the same "system".
They still list pixmac (and pond5) as their api partner although they merged with pond5 more than a year ago.

Sent email to yay, but no reply yet.

Arena... what a stupid name

Another reason why I like YAYmicro - they spread out our images to anywhere and everywhere via API. As long as the reporting is being done honestly, I'm fine with it. I don't personally have the time in the day to pimp out my own images to all of these hundreds of different online agencies worldwide... but $2 for Enhanced license? That's a little stupid.

*sigh* you gotta pick your battles, in this business.

Thanks for the confirmation Dino. Just went back into Yay and, surprise, the API opt out for ArtArena is there now. Duly opted out. I'm OK with partner deals that get you the same (or more) commission than you would usually get - but with $0.30 or so for a standard (any zize) sale and $0.59 for an Extended Licence (after Yay's 50% cut) this was just stupid amounts (for single credit sales). The fact that my copyright notice was stripped and a (false) claim of ownership to ArtArena was inserted just added insult to injury. Surprised that Yay ever thought this was a good deal for their contributors. Regards, David.

YAYmicro has always been a stand-up group of people - respectful, prompt, and great to work with. I've just opted out of artarena as well, because $2 EL sales are not cool. Thank you for letting us know.
