Title: No summer slump on the horizon yet. No slowdown either :)
Post by: wut on June 23, 2012, 12:16
I've just reached a BME at SS and need just 15$ at IS to reach it there. And in a few days FT will follow as well. DT is the only one down, but as we all know it has nothing to do with summer slowdown ;) . Looking forward to another BME ;D

Congrats, wish I could share the feeling.

Did you upload a lot lately or are you just riding it out?

Impressive to see that you can call it a BME on the 23rd of the month!

Tnx. I never upload much, since I still have a small port, some have uploaded a lot more in their first year of doing MS, than me and I'm doing it for just over 2 years. That being said, I've uploaded less than 20 photos in June (and same goes for previous months, I'd say). So neither, you can't ride it out if you don't have a big port and never have uploaded much. I guess I'm riding out on the few photos I have :)

It is, but it's happened before. I hope it continues :)

How many days off Americans usually take for the 4th of July? Is it just the 5th and 6th, the whole week (starting today) or even more? Today's sales seem pretty normal, so I guess I should be worried about the rest of the week

I can' believe you are using the term "normal" and "worried" in one sentence.

wut, by now should know that you are exempt from any royalty fluctuations that the rest of us feel. As for me, June was already my WMY  >:(

Hopefully it's not hitting me much harder this month...

June was pretty rough here too.  My sales are extremely slow today on Istock and DT, low side of normal on SS and FT.

I expect this whole week to be slow.  Usually 4th of July is a long weekend, but falling on a Wednesday, some people will probably be taking Mon & Tues off, while others will opt for Thurs & Fri, or maybe the whole week.

If your sales are normal Wut, count yourself lucky and do your happy dance :)

Oh so the worst case scenario is the most possible one. :(

IS is average, SS has almost stopped after my last post, so it's a bit below average, but still in the normal range, while I got lots of sales at FT, but mostly just subs and XS credit sales, so earnings are probably below average (I'm even lazier than usually so I didn't bother doing the math;). If many have taken Mon&Tue off, then I could really do the happy dance ;)

(In case you haven't noticed, I'm beyond caring about DT's sales)

Today's the first day that my sales are down during these 4th of July holidays. SS is at only half of what it usually is (instead of at 90%+), but it's just business as usual at IS (earned more already than at SS today) and at FT. Which is weird, AFAIK, most of the IS buyers are supposed to be Americans. OTOH I'm not surprised FT is selling as any other Wednesday since it's a European agency. I was just looking at the last 10 sales at SS and none were from the USA. I usually get 30-40% of sales from North America (very few from Canada though)
