Title: Obama lookalike - acceptable keywording
Post by: phildate on February 23, 2009, 07:10
Here's an interesting one...I shot a new model on Saturday from Mauritius who looks uncannily like a young Mr Obama. Would it be wrong to use "Obama" as a keyword? How about with "look-a-like"?

Would be interested to hear what you guys think.

Why would you, unless there is some governmental connection with the images.  Like if you put him in front of the white house or something.

What's the legal status of a look-alike? Can the original person object to its use in Stock?

I'm leaning this way, too.  I think it would be okay if the concept is satirical in nature, but if it's just a straight pose of the model without any conceptual reference to Obama, I'd be reluctant to add look-a-like or Obama to the keywords.
