So, what's happening with Offset??? has anyone from ss really made it graduated
ascended to that "authentic" upper class aristorcratically rewarding elder of ss???

i just took a look... at say, FOOD , and gosh, everything that would have failed with our regular
commonfolk curation is all there in full glory...
blocked shadow, LCV, clipped highlight, poor composition, etc

so, this is how you get to be "Offset". reminds me of all those buggers with Hasselblads
who take "authentic" non-stock photos.

Guess i will have to move over and hand my Hasselblad to my grand niece
to do all my future "authentic" photography so i can register her for Offset.
i like to feel she is well-off after i passed on to the great cloud in the sky
and she is making good use of my armoury of snapshooters.

anyone from ss succeeded to register ??? pls enlighten this common old foggie
what are we doing wrong that we cannot contribute to Offset???

Merry squishmas and Holy Hannukah  to all . Happy holidays... Gawd rest ye merry gentlemen
...and ladies of course, ... bottoms up for Henry!!!

In my view, offset seems to have professionals well established in their field. They probably get sought out from SS to contribute to offset library. If your established and doing great, would you spend your time spreading your images out to various agencies to compete with millions of images just for pennies royalty?

I am sure that there are some here that is doing fairly decent with microstock these days but that would be the minority. Earlier on, microstock money was very good money and that attracted talent. These days, it seems most posts from established contributors are making decisions outside of micro because the rewards are just not there.

You ask how to get into offset? Heres a suggestion. Make a name for yourself where you get contacted for commissioned work in your field. Have a style that is unique to you. Once your at that stage of the game, see if your still taking shots/creating imagery and hoping for the penny commissions instead of the commissioned work of thousands... ::) Commissioned work is sort of opposite of microstock.

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes from someone who doesn't get it and can't produce enough images of a style that a specific agency/collection wants to see.

I'm very happy with Offset, it has made me a lot of money this year compared to the very images I could get on there. I don't really care how you call that kind of photography as long as it makes me money.

It doesn't sound like sour grapes to me, or much like anything to be honest, as I can't make head nor tails of the OP's posts. It would help if you could find the shift key with some consistency.

Our images are exposed to the same buyers as Offset's through Shutterstock Premier. Just sayin'.

I love their food photos. Seriously, if you can't see and appreciate the beauty in those photos, please stop comparing or even thinking of joining. Why bother when you don't get them at all? It's not your style, move on.

How is that? (Guess I am a little out of touch these days. I googled "Shutterstock Premier" but was not shown any details, unless I registered first.)

Maybe you are confusing things? There is Offset, it's a separate site where buyers can register and purchase the images shown in the Offset collection only. Those buyers won't see the Shutterstock images. There certainly is an overlap in buyers between the main Shutterstock site and Offset, though, I am sure.

Then there is Shutterstock Premier, an offer for the higher end buyers on the main Shutterstock site who need special licensing. Those buyers will get to see the main Shutterstock images and a hand selected Shutterstock Premier collection (not sourced from the main collection but also not the Offset images). I am not sure if they also see the Offset collection in there but that is an option.

But Premier and Offset is most definitely not the same thing.

I didn't say they were the same thing. I said our images are exposed to the same buyers. Large enterprise customers can also license any SS images at the same prices as Offset, AFAIK. SS images are licensed to large enterprises through "Premier," which gives them additional indemnity, free large unwatermarked comp images and other perks. That's where we get the occasional large royalties.

You're probably thinking of Premier Select, which is curated. Premier is just higher pricing for the entire SS library for large enterprises.

Is there any way to see the Shutterstock Premier collection?

Premier is the entire Shutterstock collection. You'd probably need to work at a large enterprise to see Premier Select, I'd guess.

This month my offset earnings were more than 3 dollars per image on line.

My all microstock sites  earnings were 0,40 per image on line or less.
