I've had 2.
One with over 450 sales on ss alone.
The other made me about 200 in stock sales and another 300 for selling the rights after i had been contacted through istock.
None of these where people images, and they where both made with my old D50 and crap plastic lenses.
My portfolio is at about 300 images but adding about 50/week now that my studio is finally finished.

Yup I do. I have one image of a lizards eye with 30+ dls and the next biggest seller only has 9 and the lizard is selling all the time. Its on my istock port if anyone wants to go see

On ss the image has 100 sales and the next biggest only 30 so it is definately way above the rest in my portfolios

Yes, the one-hit-wonders are how I get regular payouts on Istock. 61.84% of my sales at Istock came from my top 3 sellers. That's why I tell everyone it is worth the rejections at IS, once you get some shots that are popular you really start to see the $.

I uploaded a very simplistic sun vector (somewhat stylized, but took me about 5 minutes to create) late last week and it has already earned me close to $10 on SS alone. I also have a couple waterfall pictures from Costa Rica that seem to always sell. It seems like that's what it's all about. Upload a crap load of pictures and have a small handful of them sell and sell well. But I only have ~150 picture portfolio. I have noticed though that vectors sell VERY well on SS.

The last time I participated in a thread like this, within 3 days there were no less than 6 newly uploaded images that seemed to have been "inspired" by my success.
At least make the copy-prone work for it a little and find good targets on their own.

My little wasp isolated on white has sold hundreds of times on both SS and FT. Photos that you never thought in a million years would do well take off sometimes. Don't mind so long as people keep downloading them.
