Years ago my original goal in the MS business was to make from $250 to $1,000 USD a day. Now my goal is to make from $30 to $100 USD a day. I must have been smoking some serious weed back than  :-\

My goal was, and is, to live only with microstock income.
Goal achievied (i started this adventure on 2010, full time since 2012)
I've put all my energy and efforts on this business, spent a lot of time and money on software, courses, practise, follows the trends, and so on...
I've had a fall on earnings on 2016, but from 2017 earnings are growing, thanks to new type of content i submit and a constant effort to upload
better content than my competitors.
I love what i do and despite the 'exciting news', i'm still here :)
Good luck to everyone! Peace! :)

Same here. My goal was 1000-1500$ day as I was already at 500$ day on week days. Nowadays my reality has gone to 100-150$/day Quite a backwards ride......  :(

I had always pictured this as a side income/add on but now its not even enough for lemonade thanks to greed on both sides. So Now I'm trying other things more or less. But I guess its not a bad thing.  Just another stepping stone. Just like the water in between the stones, at times can be scary.

My goal around 2017/2018 was $2,000/month.

One year from now, if I'm getting over $200/month I'll crack open up a bottle of (cheap) champagne.

"a constant effort to upload better content than my competitors." Right and bright!

I still can't understand people who expect to make money from walking around and shooting goats, or a junk yard or whatever they see on the street. Sure you can get some sales from that, flowers, Sunsets, or plop and shoot (which I do). But no one should expect to make a business or money from those things. For a hobby with low expectations, have a good time. I do have a good time. I don't make much anymore.

My goal around 2017/2018 was $2,000/month.

That's funny, because I was pretty constant at $100 a month from SS, just kicking around my odd ideas. Now I think "if I could make $1,000 a month" = well dream on. Not unless I work much harder and smarter. I still make $100 a month from multiple sites, because I started plugging Wirestock, added more to Adobe, went pay on FAA and left the rest coast.

Can things get worse? Maybe I shouldn't ask. Yet for people who work hard, "new type of content i submit and a constant effort to upload
better content than my competitors." I still see a future and returns for the hard work.

J Roget Brut 187ml   $1.79 a bottle!

California - A medium-dry sparkling wine with crisp fruit flavors. The aromas are balanced with a bouquet of toasty yeast notes and floral nuances. Enjoy on its own or blended into a cocktail!

Hey, big spender! Not earning that much!

Used to be, someone could buy a Jeroboam which is a really big bottle, I think four standard (750) bottles. When I search for that, the 3L bottles aren't around, but a box of wine is that size. So my suggestion for celebrating is get a box of wine and avoid paying for the glass bottle. When you finish that, you'll also be much happier about the stock photo market conditions. Or at least you won't care?  ;D

I don't really have photo goals for stock, except one. That is: Make enough each year from iStock for an expensive bottle of single malt scotch. Normally, once a year, I can cash out and go shopping. Things have been so depressing there this year, I'm not even on track for a nice Ardbeg Uigeadail, maybe, if things keep up? $79 a bottle. If iStock buys me a bottle of Ardbeg every year, I'm going to hang in there.

I don't finish these, just have a wee nip now and then, and put it back on the shelf. Oldest is the Supernova. Newest is actually the Uigeadail I bought in 2020. I need to re-shoot the collection, it has some varieties missing.
