Title: OzImages - Stock Photo CO-OP anyone heard of them?
Post by: leaf on August 08, 2009, 14:00
It seems a few photographers created a stock photography co-op.  Has anyone checked them out?

I have read about them before and checked their website, but as they are invitation-only, I would not be able to join them.  Anyway, I have no information about their results.

I looked into them a number of years ago. at the time it I dont think was invite only, it cost about au$300 per year but you got 100% commisssion.  I found a couple of people say very hit and miss, some people did well others did not (but then you could say that about any agency). Apparently at the time they were doing a fair bit to promote themselves as a stock agency at least in the australian market.

I put  them in cubestat, not overly inspiring

They are passionately anti-microstock, just so you know. I've looked through their website in the past and haven't seen anything to inspire me with confidence.

VERY VERY hit and miss. The guy is smooth talking and talks a lot. The leads you receive are, to say the least, very obscure (we require a photo of Elvis picking his nose while walking his pet Llama type of thing). If you have the shot you could make some bucks but its gonna cost you $300-$400 a year membership to find out.
