Title: Photographer's Market -- the book

I started using this book way back.  I think my first edition was 1979.  I bought a copy of the 2007 edition when my photography interests were revived -- my grandson started racing motorcycles.

My first question is ... is this book still a valid reference?  Do you use it?
Can anyone tell me about Tom Stack & Associates?  Didn't it used to be a major stock house?
How about Sportslight Photo?  Have any of you action shooters tried it?

I remember getting the 2005 edition.  It was completely useless.  It was as though the editors had never even heard of digital.  Hardly any places were accepting unsolicited images and those that were wanted them on slides. 

Maybe its improved since then, but it would have had to do a complete 180 to be anything approaching helpful.

20 Years ago it was the book to have! IF you shot mostly large format (at least 2 1/4) preferably 4x5 Color Transparency's. I have sold images to many references in the old books. Some images for calendars at $500.00 each.

Digital changed everything and the book is still living in the past.

I do not remember the agency's you asked about. But I sold through Gama Photo Agency and I had a rep in N.Y. City during my earlier years. I have been retired for a long time now and only shoot to please myself now and I could care less what the reviewers like or dislike.

Selling Digital RF images now at five hundred or a thousand dollars a year is next to nothing. Won't even buy my favorite lens!
