Title: Please advise - how is your workflow?
Post by: cflorinc on June 23, 2015, 04:42
I need some help. I want to start uploading more content for agencies as much as possible with as little effort as possible. I don't plan to use any paid services now, at least not in the first phase. What are your recommendations? Any suggestion is more than welcome: picture management, editing (Photoshop or Lightroom?), uploading tools and so on. Which step is more time consuming? Thank you.

1) I use FastStone Image viewer to check my RAW files for 100% focus and delete the crap.

2) Import into Lightroom for tweaks, adding keywords/descriptions etc. Build preview so it saves you tie when zooming in.

3) Export to JPEG - re-tweak in Photoshop if required.

4) Upload via FTP (Filezilla)

Biggest part of workload is key-wording and writing descriptions - I would say I spend 70% of my work time doing this - only keeping sane is the key. If it gets too much I start working on latest batch of photos and return when my sanity has been restored.

Thank you John. What do you mean by sanity?

State of mind - sanity = to keep sane, to have a sound mind.

Doing repetitive tasks makes me insane :)
