Between August and October 2022 Adobe Stock is requesting and accepting PNGs with transparency.

What other agencies are doing this, if you know FOR SURE ?

Copy & paste from indivstock insights ( indivstock.com/members/insights )
"... The customer receives a file.webp.
The purpose of the new image format is to offer a format that allows a transparent background. ..."

Actually, it's kind of surprising that all the major agencies don't offer png's. Seems like it's a competitive edge for those that do and not much of an investment on the agency's part to support png's.

I think DT accepts them as an additional format you can upload. I don't know this 100%, but that was my understanding, and if you search on .png a lot of images come up.

I think to do it right for the customer you need to offer the png with the option as jpg on white background the way adobe does it and also have an easy search tool for transparency.

I am sure when the Adobe collection is successful and large enough, other agencies will offer it as well.

But how many of my png sales at the moment are actually png and not simply objects or people on white?

Not sure how many customers really want the png.

I would guess that for isolated objects, a customer would be more confident (with the isolation) when purchasing a png vs. a jpg. "isolated on white".
