Title: Problems deleting photos across all sites
Post by: Yay Images Billionaire on November 13, 2014, 23:14
Hi

I have a few photos that are not selling on the micro sites which I think would have some sales potential on more niche RM sites. Since those sites require either image exclusivity or at least not having the same files available on RF sites, I'd need to delete them on the micro sites.

Before I start deleting, I wanted to check if there was any problems I'm likely to encounter on any sites. I would either need to delete the files on ALL the sites or not bother at all.

The sites I'm currently uploading to are:
SS, IS, FT, DT, 123RF, DP, BS, Alamy, CS, YM, Pixta, and Kozzi.

BS: you must contact them with image ID and ask to delete;
DT: you must wait at least 6 months after uploading, and can delete up to 30% of all pictures;
Don't know about Pixta or Kozzi
All other sites: no problems that I am aware, you can delete pictures by yourself

Thanks. So I should check what can be deleted at DT first.

Keep in mind that any image that has sold as RF in the past probably shouldn't be offered for exclusive RM licensing.

You can delete your files on Alamy (delete all keywords, captions etc FIRST), but they can still be sold for six months if someone has already selected them. And there can be a long time before sales are reported there, which could be important if you need to be able to provide an image sales history.

Otherwise, check the T&C of each agency to be clear.

As far as I know DP only deactivates images - so that they remain in their system - instead of being deleted on contributor request.  I was not comfortable with this and that's one reason (AMONG others) that I stopped uploading to this agency.  >:(

Yea, for DT you can disable 30% of your portfolio before the six months and then at 6 months you can disable your whole portfolio. Just about 3 months ago a huge number of mine reached the six months and I disabled them all.

For sure. I'm only selecting images which haven't sold.
