Title: Really...rejected?
Post by: jcpjr on March 03, 2010, 22:22
I thought I'd  upload up a few images to Canstock after reading some of the post here and I have to tell you I am disappointed after a "first" attempt. I've been doing this since 2005 and know what is required. I uploaded 3 of my recent images that have been selling very well at the other major 4 and then I get this reply: "The images you submitted are not high enough quality to be approved for sale. Stock Photography buyers expect to receive a professional quality, flawless image. There are several problems that we typically see that are apparent in your images: image noise, exposure problems, imprecise focus."    Hello? ...I asked to have my account closed.

I feel your pain.  I just went through something similar, elsewhere.  Incompetence accompanied by rudeness.

as i see it, it's a complete waste of time to deal with second tier agencies.

i would focus mainly on istock and go exclusive.

the days of these third rate agencies are numbered.

I have to agree although, I'm waiting 'til the dust settles on the major MS players to decide exclusivity on not. There's a lot to consider the way things are moving at the moment...SS is blowing them all away for me with roughly the same amount of images at all the players. Hard to turn my back on the simple facts.

No telling what a reviewer(s) will do. Hell is going exclusive and running into a series of incompetent reviewers. Then what? Might as well go back to flipping burgers.
