Title: Referral programs: does it work?
Post by: snem on November 23, 2006, 10:26
well... I have some questions: how much do you earn from referral programs? Which site has better referral program?
For those who consider speaking of how much they earn offensing, please post only stats, such as % earned with a referral program of total earned.
thanks

fotolia and shutterstock are really the only referrals worth bothering with.  the others have referals and if you are allready giving out links it doens't hurt to include them but they are pretty meager.

Apologies if this isn't 100% up to date

I have received money from DT,BigStock,FT,123 + FP

My referral table (http://www.fintastique.com/guide.htm#Referrals)

Does anyone know anything about iStock referrals?

DT will give you $5 for putting one of their site badges on your site.

commenting on your table.  I was in the understanding that fotolia paid 10% of the sellers sales for 3 years, not 6 months.

I thought fotolia was for 5 years.

iStock do referreals for buyers and also for footage ($1 for each footage uploaded).

Referrals can be worthwhile but only if you get the right person.  I have lots of referrees at SS but most haven't been accepted to submit photos.

I stand corrected CJ is right

hidden in "my profile" at Ft was the number 1825 the Duration of Affiliation of affiliation, I suspect they may have changed it.

Strange as elsewhere it talks about a limited time 5 years in microstock is rather a long time.

I thought my link at SS didn't worl but I checked three photographers with zero photos in their portfolios
