Title: Replacing active files with new improved.
Post by: Phadrea on April 29, 2013, 17:43
When I submitted my shots to IS, SS and Dreamstime I had not discovered the wonders of Lightroom. I was using the raw Shooter Essentials which I thought did the job. How wrong I was. Now I can get ok to good images looking fantastic from Raw with LR.

The question is, will I have to re-submit them as new images or can I replace already active files ? They really are worth replacing.

You cant replace images, only on FAA.

You can upload the new image and delete the old one when accepted. But some agencies, will reject as similar and then you need to delete the old file first, with the chance the new one wont be accepted.

It can be a catch 22.

On iS there is a procedure, which I can't remember, so long as it's exactly the same photo and you're just changing the processing. However, I read that years ago and the iS forum is a total nightmare to search.

If you want to replace some at iS, you could throw yourself at the random mercies of whichever CR person gets your ticket and hope they know the procedure, else they'll likely just tell you it can't be done.

I don't want to submit to SS and then get thrown out for trying to send to files of the same image. At the same time I don't want to pull any in case the second batch doesn't get accepted. But surely any technical rejections will be accepted if processed through LR ? I hope so as the images are far superior.
