Title: Reselling stolen vectors?
Post by: panicAttack on December 22, 2011, 08:56: Greetings and sorry for my English.

My girlfriend made this vectors long time ago. They are selling good on shutterstock and today I found one site is selling them and other giving for free.

What can we do about that? Is it good to contact shutterstock? Can we even fight against those kind of things?

Post by: helix7 on December 22, 2011, 09:16: I'd contact the first one directly. They seem like a small operation, probably clueless that they can't resell stock images.

The second one, you're best bet is going after the sites hosting the actual files. Hotfile, Turbobit, etc. Send DMCAs to them and they'll remove the files.

How far do DMCAs apply outwith the US? Does the originator of the file have to be a US citizen and/or does the hosting site have to be in the US?

For other we site, have you tried to download your EPS? I cant test using my iPhone right now, but most "free" download sites are just a scam takes you to another site, then another and they ask you to register and pay x$ to be able to download the file, and even then I am not sure the file is even available.

I'd suggest you test this, then of course make yourself heard to site owner and to Shutterstock.

Sucks to have to do That anyhow... Good luck!
