Speaking strictly for myself- My sales have tank this morning compared to the last 90 days! I guess the holidays have officially started for the buyers. I will stop uploading and take some more CS6 and lighting courses for the next few weeks to up my game for next year.

Yep.  I had a huge flurry of sales over the last few days and it all just fell off a cliff this afternoon.  Seemed like the buyers were using up their credits and subs allowances before the hols.

So yes... same for me... I'll check my numbers and check in here, but no more shooting/uploading for me 'til mid-Jan.

I think the rest of this will be fine - not seeing any cliff here.

I am seeing more non-Christmas images mixing in with the seasonal ones though. People are starting to dream of warm beaches...

That was me! A 1977 B/W shot of Morris Minor cars at an autocross event ($1.84 commission). Regards, David.

My graphs hit a peak yesterday. Last year the highest point was Dec 21 then everything went downhill from there.

Being my first true year in the business (Major Rookie) when do sales start to pick up again?

Looking back at past years of data, it does appear that the Thursday before Christmas week is the day the slide starts.

For some reason for me today, though, sales are chugging along like normal.

I would suspect things to really pick up again the week of Jan 7.

(As for Stockfresh... I'm at 78 downloads so far this month, my BME there.  As for Cutcaster... I uploaded a few things as  a test a few years ago, but never really took them seriously.  In my mind, Stockfresh is a real up and comer, and you can ignore them at your peril.)

My cliff started on Monday and I am not going to have a good December, however sales elsewhere  outside stock are compensating.

Never!  :o It will be downhill forever.

Abandoned Ship!

And honestly, probably Feb. according to what others have said over the years.

If you haven't uploaded your hearts and flowers or romance shots for Valentine's Day, you may be too late. Sure there will be last minute sales, but many places are already thinking past Christmas and New Years and are into February planning.

There's just as good of an argument for established images in the search as there is for any perceived new image boost. Personally I think downloads and sales have a positive effect on placement. Of course you could be working on Presidents Day, 18th of February also?  ;) Monday, January 21    Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.

St. Patricks Day? Easter is March 31st this year.

My December cliff started on Labor Day Weekend - seriously :o

And not only on IStockPhoto, but across the board, after a comparatively sensational August it just dropped and keeps on dropping - here's to a more successful 2013  :)

I think that today will be the day that it will really fall of a cliff.  It's been slowing down a bit for me so far but I really don't expect many sales now until after the holidays.

still going strong for me, BME for iS and SS so far.

my tiny xmas port @ 20 images has done quite nicely, but other stuff is still making up about 80% of sales.

looking fwd to seeing the stats.

Yesterday was surprisingly good on most sites particularly in Europe but I'm sure from today it will totally tank everywhere.

I was with the majority - lower than normal sales in the past week, but Friday surpassed all expectations - a $28 ED is always welcome, but also, my first $90 single download. I've never been completely sure what a $90 download is going to be used for, but this one was my very popular cat shot:

A nice Christmas present!
