Hi,

It looks strange for me to have same sales with 400 images and 4000 images in Signelements.

Moreover, recently uploaded photos are far more salable than the first (observations at other sites)
May be if I will upload more 20000 will be the same. It seemed to me a site with good potential, but...

Somebody to have the same curious situation?

I haven't observed that, but I got my 7k portfolio all up within about a months time there, so no way to compare.

I will say that I am pleased with sales there, and with the conversion rate from to $ I end up making a decent payout each month.

From where? Are they going to make money to pay you more when they charge this?

Complete Subscription: All - 1 year $ 395

"Standard Ingimage subscribers may download up to 250 images per week at maximum resolution. signelements subscribers may download up to 50 maximum resolution photos, illustrations, vectors and or wraps per week"

Credits go to: Image(s) licensed by Ingram Publishing.

Use the images as part of marketing, advertising, or promotional materials, including print advertisements, mailers, handouts, and packaging (with print run up to 300,000).

http://www.signelements.com/p/User_Agreement.html

And people talk about unfavorable agency terms and contracts? AT least the 30% is better than most.

CONTRIBUTORS will receive a 30% commission per downloaded file or file sale. Subscription royalties are calculated according to CONTRIBUTOR downloads as a proportion of overall downloads

Slice of the pie royalty in other words. As more people join and more photos get accepted and anyone's percentage of the total sales, decreases, so will the returns. I think that may be how 400 images can earn the same as 4000. Just a theory.

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope all you all have had a well-deserved break.

To Deyan Georgiev: I have just checked your royalties and indeed the results have not increased in the same pace as your portfolio has.

The explanation to this is, just as RacePhoto mentions, that we have added a large amount of new content to the site over the last few months and this has started to dilute sales. However I expect our new marketing campaigns and improved variety of images to positively affect your sales in the long run.

Thanks for bringing your site to my attention..

There are some ridiculously ugly images based on one of my icon sets..

http://www.signelements.com/imagedetails/51045366_extInt0/02G86292-Ingimage-logo-set.html

this is my image
http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-illustration-5965507-various-shapes-and-graphic-design-elements.php?st=931b75c

the images on signelements are just ugly distortions and warped versions of some of my abstract icons.. Please remove them immediately and don't make me search through your entire library for further violations.. I don't even see a contributor name for the infringer? is this an official violation by signelements? whoever is the violator, remove all his images (not just these two)

I promise to sue you, If I see any more content blatantly based on my vectors.. horribly executed by the infringer to try to disguise the theft..

btw, why is the thief's name hidden? to prevent me finding him/her on other sites?

I repeat, is this a violation by the agency?

if not, why hide the thief's username?

this is only what I found on the first page of the results

I urge any other vector artists on MSG to search for their stolen content here:

and here:

I am indebted to stop uploading new photos by the moment, because otherwise it would be foolish on my side

even though there is no "name" for the contributor, when I clicked on "more from this contributor" button, this portfolio came up:

http://www.signelements.com/search/smsx_contributor_19019.html

36636 vectors.. wow! I have never seen a vector artist with 36636 vectors..

Give us his name.. in case this portfolio is up on other sites, the thief have to be punished..

when you click on a genuine account, there is the contributor name.. but not on these ones.. it is like signelements are trying to hide something?

I hope it works out for you. The first time I saw the divided commissions, based on sales, I thought it made some good sense. Everyone shares equally according to their contribution to the final numbers. This is best for people with 5,000 photos, and up, who can work the volume aspects of their long hard creative journey. For smaller portfolios, I suspect I'd get lost or buried.

Happy New Year everyone!

WOw really?!!?!?

So someone growing his portfolio by 1000% can expect to see no return for his immense efforts at your agency? ? ? Thats some very worrying developments then. I can understand why the OP decided to stop uploading since there is zero return on his hard work. Unbelievable.

Taken at face value the OP's post would be alarming.  I can't speak to growth because, as I said above, my whole port went up pretty much within a month.

But of the newer sites I am uploading to, income at SignElements is quite good - comparable to PhotoDune and Depositphotos.  They are out-earning sites like Veer, GL, Stockfresh, and Crestock by a wide margin.

Not to mention Lotti came here to answer the question promptly and honestly.  Kind of a rarity among the micros these days, so I give them credit for that.

I based my comment on what the OP said indeed. I was just flabbergasted that the reason is library dilution. I am glad you do well, but you have some serious good work.

Credit to Lotti for answering questions and posting here, hear hear.

Hi all,

Here is my stats for the 2012(with 212 3d images online)

Month            Royalties
January 2012    0,14
February 2012    3,54
March 2012    4,99
April 2012             3,83
May 2012             2,99
June 2012             1,73
July 2012             1,70
August 2012    2,37
September 2012    3,62
October 2012    1,66
November 2012    1,94
December 2012    1,95

I think I need to wait approximately 5-6 months to get my first payout.

But, to be honest I'm more interested to see an official answer for the Cidepix question from Lotti.

My idea to write this post was not to become against SignElements, but also do not want to have situations working against my interests.

Every agency have the freedom to determine his business model, the commissions, to reject images...but there are some iron principles: Better images sells better and More images sells more.

I also appreciate the fact that Lotti joined the topic and to pay attention on this question.

Cidepix: Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. As you have reported elsewhere on this forum these particular images are represented by several sites - including Shutterstock as 'High Leg studio'. If there is indeed any copyright infringement then we are extremely anxious to investigate it properly. Would you kindly send me specific examples. If proven or even if we agree that a file is unacceptably similar then we will take it up with the studio and remove the file/s.

However, yours is an allegation at this point. It would not be right for us to provide this large studio's contact information publicly while your claim is being investigated. Please correspond with me directly on this subject at [email protected].

Thanks for responding here Lotti and checking into this.

No problem! The address is forwarded to my colleague as well as me, hence the 'Out of office'-message. I've got a copy and will look into it asap.

Thanks for your patience.
