Title: same title and description, reason for rejection?
Post by: adrian3008 on November 06, 2013, 05:50
Hello everyone. I have a question regarding naming some files in my portofolio. I have a couple of vector files from same series ( 5 vector packs with 10 floral elements each ). They are almost the same regarding style,colur,etc... Could I copy/paste the title, desription and keywords and add this to all my 5 vector packs from the same series? Is it a bad thing,a reason for rejection? At Istock I tried to submit them like this : "Floral elements set 1, Floral elements set 2..." and got a rejection. They said to add more clear description to title and description for their search engine and for the customer to be able to find them. Any advices?

It can be a reason for rejection but often it goes through.  It is best to at least modify it a little - rotate through the most important keywords in the title / description.

set of highly detailed floral elements
group of complex flower elements
etc...

Its also better to get noticed on Google (SEO) as duplicate descriptions and titles are often not indexed. Also the description or title will generate the image URL, which will then be similar and also hurts SEO.

that's only 1 thing google might look at - I have numerous dupe titles & keywords  and I get 70%+ indexed images from google

much more important is software like symbiostock that emphasizes SEO -- after several years on smugmug, my images were never indexed at 20% --  after uploading on sym with no changes to metadata, they're getting indexed in days

I have relatively no duplicates and my images are indexed 97%
