Title: Searching for Software to manage and describe my images
Post by: ginasanders on May 09, 2009, 04:58
I need a software to manage and describe my images. Search for keywords in IPTC data. For example: apple woman. The IPTC data will then be copied from this founded picture in a new one. Can someone help? Thank you very much!

The best software I know for this is Lightroom 2 and it does more than just manage and describe your images.

You can do it in Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Bridge as well....if you have them.
In Bridge: Right click on the image, choose "file info", find button left from OK button, click that little arrow on it, and choose "export". Your IPTC data will be saved, and then you can apply it on another image doing the same as before, just choose "import" instead of "export" option. Most likely your exported data will be already visible in the list, and you won't even need to choose "import" because it will be already offered by program.
In Photoshop everything is the same, except first step. Open the image, go to main menu: File/File info...
The rest is the same. these two programs can exchange IPTC data, so you can export from Bridge and import to Photoshop and vice versa.
