Hi,

I need your advice guys. I have been selling stock photography for some time now and it works as a decent supplemental income for my photography business. Over the years, I have accumulated a sizable collection of sensual fine art boudoir photos, semi-nude and nude with attractive female models. Most of them were my personal projects which I did with my friends for fun. I tried to upload some of them to SS, but unlike the other images in my portfolio, I was not getting any sales from them. I did sell some on Fotolia and DepositPhotos, though not very many also. I know these images are not too bad because I actually had several people buy them as fine art prints/canvases directly from me. I have been thinking about alternative possible ways to monetize this collection (all shoots are model released and models are fine with me selling pics), and I wonder what would be a good micro/macro/art place to sell them? Anyone has any thoughts? Is it even worth it or is there no significant market for that kind of stuff? I saw lingerie shots at all major agencies, but I am not sure if they bring their creators much profit.

Let me just stress that I am not talking about any kind of pr0n. The pictures many times have suggestive poses and frivolous facial expressions, but no exposed genitalia, body fluids, toys, or any of the obscene stuff. Even if the model is fully naked, private parts are usually covered by shadows, composition, props, etc.

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't sell that kind of thing as stock.  They will always be misused, and you might end up like this:

I'm not sure why anyone would want a fine art print from the boudoir session of someone they don't know.  Where are you going to hang something like that?

yes, there is a market for such images, but as sean locke says sums it up quite
explicitly

it is not only a big risk to get such portfolio in microstock, but not a very wise one.

if you can really do that very well, you would have no problem do it locally...
as once again, sean locke says it...
who would want to hang a picture of some stranger in their house ???

boudoir style studio shots are usually popular with intimate and open-minded couples
for each other, but not something someone would want to have it on fb, www, etc.
not unless you want to get sued
