Im new to microstock photo, and I plan invest some money in knowledge, aka "books". So I started to search around Amazon and found 2 interesting books, but Im not sure if worth buy them.

Low Budget Shooting: Do It Yourself Solutions to Professional Photo Gear
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1933952105/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2DS1HLSODW57O&colid=2N2APV5QH8HB
Will I found good suggestions to set up my homestudio? Because I saw many sites explaining many ways to do a cheap studio....

Photos That Sell: The Art of Successful Freelance Photography
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0817455124/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1YCEBM8A8LYT8&colid=2N2APV5QH8HB
Does this book useful for a person (me) that plan only sell imagens at microstocks?

BTW, do you have another ideas to me take a look?

Thanks!!

i looked at the first one at amazon.  72 pages bit thin?  I wonder how much benefit it would over spending a few hours on strobist?  But then again its not expensive.

re: lee frost book, he had large chunks of this book scattered around his website ephotozine.  Not sure if it is still there, but be worth looking to see, although I cant say I got much out of it.  I had a similar one trying to remember who by now :) he runs / ran a photo request service but I cant remember his name.  didn't get much out of it at the time, but it reinforced things that I saw again later his advice was

always people in the shot.
they are interacting with anything else in the shot
copy space
basic composition
watch backgrounds

Photos That Sell by Frost is a good book for generating ideas.

My favorite books for overall stock usefulness are Understanding Exposure and Learning to See Creatively, both by Bryan Peterson.  Both are excellent in terms of taking strong, colorful, well-exposed images.  They are chock full of neat ideas too.
