This can be a funny thread, showing the ugly or unflattering images we have in our portfolios that still somehow managed to interest someone. I believe we all have images that we made and then think "Hmm, I don't think it will work" but anyway we submit them, they are approved and surprisingly they even sell.
For instance, this one was for a request in IS, somehow it was rejected for the request but accepted for the general portfolio - something I never understood, as it was a very specific subject and so maybe the opposite made more sense. Anyway, as it was approved, I left it there. Last ime I checked it had had just a few views and, although it wasn't very flattering in my portfolio, I decided to leave it there for a while. I sold it this week and got 44c.

God bless the purchasers!
I thought this one was funny, but never thought it would get accepted or sell!

Heheh.
Adelaide...I remember that request for image of veins!
(sorry, I don't know how to insert a photo off of my sites.)

Slightly OT ...
I've got an image I'd like to show that fits this.
But how do you manage to insert the image in your post, Madelaide?

It was something that came with an electric razor I bought. I figured since both were new, I'd be able to photograph them isolated. I figured the electric razor would sell but a nose and ear hair trimmer? Sold twice so far. Go figure ???

Penelope,
I first thought it was a real deer. I was shocked. :)
To insert images and links you can use the icons that appear above the reply msg window.
In summary, the main tags are (with brackets instead of parenthesis):
(img)abd.jpg(/img)
(url)abc.htm(/url)
(url=abc.htm)ABC(/url)
(url=abc.htm)(img)abd.jpg(/img)(/url)
I hope that helps.

These were for a request at SP. I submitted to the microstock and some accepted. They sold in StockXpert, BigStock, FT and even SSP.

Thanks Adelaide
Here's mine ... close up of a piece of really grungy artificial leather, ready for the dump.
But someone's bought it, once.

Ah well ... 20 cents is better than nothing I suppose.

Trying to learn to do isolated shots, I was one day shooting anything I had laying around. I did a series of shots of an old camera and I had this old 1950's portable transistor radio. SO, I shot it too. It is beat to a pulp, the leather cover worn and stained.... well... One day while uploading a batch to SS, I included it... figured, what the heck, maybe I can play the 'vintage' card on this one... ....if they take it, cool, if not, it's a lousy shot anyway. It's not even a mediocre isolated shot as I'm still learning lighting. I figure, all I have to lose is a couple minutes keywording the thing. Well much to my surprise, SS took the thing!! I even wondered how it got past the reviewer, maybe it was a mistake...??? It's been up about 2 weeks and has sold 6 times already. Who knows??
Maybe somebody bought it to put up on some forum somewhere so that everyone can get a good laugh ripping it up.... LOL :) :D ;D

When shooting some food I took a picture of a fridge magnet, it has sold twice

Funny, I would have thought the magnet might fall into the "possibly copyrighted item" that most sites reject. Have you had problems elsewhere?

No, DT thought it was not stock material but no copyright rejections. It is a souvenir someone brought me from a holiday.
