Can you imagine! Less than an hour between a message saying oh we have received your upload and an other message saying all of your files have been approved. I am blown away.

Back in a day when I was an exclusive istockphoto contributor I have witnessed inspection queue being a few months long, as well as only few days short. That being said my most recent istockphoto upload has been accepted after six weeks. This is what? Over a thousand times longer isn't it.

I had some more footage to submit tomorrow, but I am going to do this today! This is just the motivation I needed.

I wonder how they are doing that (waiting since the 7th here)

They probably recognized that it was already inspected and approved by iStock so why waste time.

Was it footage targo?  Loooong cue for photos unless it was cleared overnight.

They are really fast with footage.  I've only submitted footage a couple of times but both times it was approved on the same day.

Photos usually take about a week though.

did you have something in the queue already?  On IS each image inspected in sequence but on SS when they get to your first one, they do everything

The OP mentions it was footage.

Anyway, I've submitted footage while photos were already in the queue and the footage was reviewed promptly while the pics languished in the queue.

It was footage, this was the only batch waiting for approval, and no these files have not been accepted by istockphoto yet. Not even submitted actually.

When it comes to you guys waiting a week or so, I would not be mad about that. A week really is not that long and this is what I usually experience.

I know this super fast acceptance was a one off, but anyways it was great to see that happen : )

Yes, but on SS a week pending time is very unusual.... Mu average pending time on SS is 3-4 days ( about twice/week)

Sounds like at the moment queues are:
footage, immediate
photos, about a week
vectors, two weeks plus

I still have vectors from before the end of Jan waiting

Maybe you should ask them if everything is ok with your files. I just had an other overnight acceptance.

Here you can see the latest 22 accepted files

Each media type has its own queue. So footage review times are unrelated to photo review times and so on.

Thanks. I wish I did not open up so much though. They are too much out of focus.

I almost waited too late because I forgot I had the image. I hadn't even processed it yet. But I got an editorial approved in less than 24 hours with a note to support.

Shutterstock is definitely top earner for me, with similar size folios on many agencies.
After I uploaded my first around 300 files every month yielded around 50$ (with very little variation).
For some months with no further uploads these earnings remained stable.
At a later stage I uploaded around 300 more (double the files) over a couple weeks, then the earnings went up to 100$ (double the earnings) and remained so for months until I
recently uploaded 150 more and the earnings grew proportionally again, with very little variation.
It seems strange these figures, and this is over a 2 year period total.
The monthly variation is never beyond 10%, so I can predict quite accurately the earnings at the end of each month.
So you have x files you make x money, you have 2x files you make 2x money, you have 3x files you make 3x money...?
This doesnt happen with any other site I'm on.
Some sites can make 5$ one month and 50$ the next, a variation of 1000%
A strange recurring coincidence? What are your experiences? Is this suspicious?

Just saying that all of the 21 sites I submit to have big earning variations month to month, up to 1000% or more in some cases. Noticed that SS has a massively different pattern of only around 10% or so variation, so asking fellow long time contributors if they found something similar.
What is the reason for SS reported sales patterns being so very dramatically different from all the others?
If you owned a restaurant somewhere you couldn't access/check personally, business that has similar variables with just a few customers on slow days and packed full on others, and your manager reported you made the same profit every day, what would you think?
