Title: Shutterstock $105.00 for a single footage sale 'Clip Pack' ????
Post by: spudgun on October 05, 2016, 20:08
Greetings, fine compatriots and fellow artists.
I like to think myself rather astute, alas; I am struggling no end to make out HOW, exactly, I have earned $105.00 from a single HD footage clip, apparently sold as a 'Clip Pack' sale?

Can't get to grips fully with Shutterstock's logic here. I KNOW that many, (including myself), have suffered the ignominy of earning only 4 dollars or so for selling a footage clip but talk about going to one extreme to another. Of course, it may well be an error and it may well be remedied.

Comments or thoughts hugely appreciated.

Kindest wishes,
Spud

They are rare but they are real and really nice to get.
Congratulations.
Sales can even go up to 200$.

Congratulations! :)
As far as I know it's extended licence sale, very nice thing :) It's either for some big project (movie, ad) or for sensitive use (tobacco, overweight). By the way try google image search with a screenshot in a month or two, we've found one of our clips used in Vodafone ad this way :)
Has anyone sold 4K with EL on Shutterstock?

Thank you, kind people; yes I kind of suspected that there may be some element of extended license or something but Shutterstock certainly don't elaborate on this or make it clear in my sales advice; it merely says 1 sale 'Clip Pack'.

Thank you for your kind wishes, and I sincerely hope you guys experience the same good fortune very soon, (but don't hold your breath!)

I didn't realize you could search for clip uses with a screen shot.  Nice tip - I will have to try that.

I also sold one for over $100. Now I know why.  :)

Mine was HD.

I sold a couple "Clip Packs" last month for $102 each.  They were 4k but not sure about Extended License.
