“One of the most common ways business professionals use Shutterstock images is in presentations,” says Jon Oringer, founder and CEO of Shutterstock. “With hundreds of millions of users, PowerPoint is the most successful presentation tool in the world; it’s the short-hand of business communications. We’re delighted to be working with the Office team to offer incredible images directly in the application.”

Good, as long the compensation to the contributor is fair, of course. I couldn't find the details of that.

SS attempt to respond  to Adobe integrating Fotolia watermarked photos in Photoshop.
Nice move, in my opinion.

It appears it's just a regular account - existing or new - so compensation wouldn't be any different. Other than one free image for the first 25,000 people to download the add-in to office, I don't see any special pricing mentioned.

At least we will be getting paid something, even if it is still a pittance. You never know when these deals are at the contributor's expense.

I once went to a presentation by Joe McNally where he said the best thing about competition between Nikon and Canon is that it means better cameras for all of us. While the competition between SS and Adobe can unfortunately mean a price war, fortunately it also means they need to stay on top of their game to keep market share and still earn a profit, and concepts like this one will hopefully lead to more sales and income for us. I noticed SS also has an editing software that lets people use filters and text and resize photos, with optimum sizes for social media. I'm encouraged by this.

i agree . at the beginning ss had is to prevent them from being a monopoly. as i said before, even with all the lengthy choices of agencies to the right coloumn here, i chose to be exclusive with ss. not because i think ss deserves my exclusivity, but because i am not going to waste time and energy uploading to site that can't even attain 50% after 5 years in the market.

whatever , as someone said it's all fixed, that suddenly bring alamy to be the new contender in place of the shameless is being sold to getty, i do wish it is not fixed, and that indeed
there is alamy, and hopefully sooner , more than alamy who can maintain
a 70% rating .
this would in fact push ss to try harder to keep their older contributors happy,
... and start getting me back my single earnings of 28 to 102 dollars :)

but i won't hold my breath ...
but as nicholson (joker) once said, "this city needs an enema.." this business of microstock certainly need a giant enema too!!!
