Title: Shutterstock Hiring Question
Post by: Allen on August 07, 2008, 11:18
Hi all,

I see Shutterstock is looking for an Image Reviewer (posted on the forum), but I was wondering if anyone here knows aproximately how much money you can make from doing this.

A little known secret is that I applied to be a keymaster at Dreamstime quite a while back and I found it difficult to make more than $5 or $6 per hour.  Needless to say I quit as there are many other ways to make as much if not more.  (McDonalds for one.)

I figure Image Reviewers must make quite a bit more, but don't know for sure.

Please if anyone knows or has a comment, give a shout!

The only thing I know about reviewing at SS is they pay by the hour, require that you work a certain number of hours per week, and have quotas on the number of images you must review per week.  The last time they posted the hourly wage (about 2 years ago), it was $8 an hour.

Most sites pay by the image, which like Keymasters doesn't even add up to minimum wage in the US...unless you own a top notch computer with lightening speed.

Crap thatīs low. 8$/h.   Give away that job to someone that really need it!!!   For a poor guy in India itīs a fortune.

For us itīs just pain in the neck...

Wow, that's tight. Isn't that below minimum wage?
