I wanted to see what you folks thought of the Sigma AF 90 F/2.8 Macro lens? I have a co-worker that is interested in selling this lens to me since I am in the hunt for a macro lens. Thanks

Pretty much any macro lens will be fine, they all should be very sharp. If you can get a good deal then get it.

I you have actual access to the lens then borrow it . Only you can judge how good it is. You have the distinct option here in seeing if the lens fits your actual needs. It's a no brainer. Not everybody gets tat opportunity.
Why two threads on this stuff?

Depends on what you plan to use it for:
is it studioworks inside? then it is fine.
Are you going to hunt butterflies outside, then it is too slow, and worst, it focuses by extruding itself, and that is both difficult to work with and also scares the critters away.
For outside macro on live animals I recommend the nikor 105 VR.
I do not have the sigma 90 macro, but I have the 50 and the 150, and I have seen the 90 in action.
