It's good we all look out for each other.  Who else is going to?  We're all we've got :D

I hope they reply to you soon.  At least he can't cash out, they must sort this out before the next payout.

I've got a horrible feeling that SS might consider this no big deal. It might explain why they accept so many dubious silhouettes.

If it's true, I apologize but I don't know who the real author is.

No big deal man - like I said before, I have used this silhouette in many of my graphics.  I know it very well, so when I saw someone else selling it - that upset me.

any response from SS yet? Their apparent lack of interest is a real worry (though not completely surprising)

Surprisingly, no - no response yet.  I even emailed Anthony directly, yesterday.  I really wish someone there would at least acknowledge my claim, I mean come on - it's been a week already.  Usually matters like this are taken care of promptly.  This is an open and shut case, it really would only take 5 mins of someone's time over there to look and see what the deal is.  What gives??  I know they could have a lot on their plate right now, can I at least get a, "we're investigating the matter" from them?

Props to Chad at Fotolia for taking care of this thief the same day I reported it.

If I don't hear back by tomorrow, I'm starting a thread on their forum.  Hopefully that will get someone's attention.  I didn't want to stoop to that level, as they always reply to those threads advising everyone to contact [email protected] - but a week?  I feel like I'm being ignored.  What did I do wrong?  I'm the victim here.  I'm pretty sure there are more submitters that are also the victims of theft from this guy.

It sucks that it seems that whenever someone has a serious concern they have to resort to calling out SS in public. So many threads start out "I have tried emailing X weeks ago and still no reply". It really does show a total disregard for their contributors.
The fact that the response on the thread is usually "please email and keep this off the boards" just adds insult to injury!

Maybe next time someone gets the "keep this off the boards" response you could post copies of the emails with dates clearly showing when sent.

Bit naughty but might get some action.

more likely to get you banned from the forum and/ or the site entirely. This is Shutterstock we're talking about.

If more people that were stolen from would email them about this guy, perhaps it would add some urgency to the situation.  I know I can't be the only one.

I finally got a response from SS that the issue is being investigated.

Justice is served - case closed.  Thanks to everyone involved in this drama...

Keep watching out for him, in case he decides to pop up anywhere else.
