so, what's the deal with shutterstock? decided I might try using them again, and the people (or algorithm) they have doing the "review" reject 100% of the items submitted? thought I'd get enough sales to cash out - so submitted a bunch of items - and 100% "rejection" rate with b.s. reasons... are they really just trying to p_ss off contributors?

Interesting, I am reading here in the forums similar posts where people submit in bulk and get high rejections.
I am also noticing that those same people in the majority of the cases have a one or two post regarding no sales.
Could there be a correlation between the two?
Do your images have some commercial value or they are just images that you believe might have some commercial value?
I had a few images that I had sentimental value to me and when I submitted to SS I was heartbroken because the rejection, but even the message was vague it was clear, I was just sad do the rejection and could not see the reason. After analyzing the image, indeed while it's a great picture, it has NO commercial value whatsoever.
I don't have a huge portfolio, I don't submit in bulk, my approval rate is high, I have less than 25 downloads with only 12 images, and I been doing this for only a few months. I might not be the person to talk about bulk, I am just intrigued.
Thanks

Re-submit and see what happens.

How many dimes do you need to cash out. It's only $35? You should make that much easily, in a month?

If you have a recection rate of 100%, chances are pretty high that there is a problem with your photos.
Yes, SS rejections can be a bit erratic and reviewers have a problem finding some common ground regarding the quality they accept, no doubt about that. But with a rejection rate of 100% I'd really take a close look at my pictures and do some self-reflection instead of blaming it on SS.

Yes, I do make sales on SS. It's just the last year or so they went from a 75-80% approval rate to now 0%-10%.

Yes, only reason I reactivated my account. Had $10-$15 or so - figured I might as well make the $35 threshold (which I did) - but wanted to try some uploads. And haha, nice spinwheel - I think they used it multiple times ;) Some items have 5-6 reasons (which of course made no sense).

What made you want to try them again? Royalties have not improved, nor has their reviewing system. Save yourself the frustration.

Oh - I just wanted to get the $10/$15 I had there. I'll probably be deactivating it soon. But while I had it active - I had some content sitting on my harddrive I had initially scheduled for SS, and just wanted to see if I could get it uploaded.
