Title: Software to recognize images from stock website?
Post by: Morphart on November 28, 2012, 21:28
I was wondering if anyone knew about a service, software or online service that would help you find an image on a a stock website based on a JPG of the file?

If not, would you think it useful?

Right now I have a wedding project in HD. 5-6 years ago I created a DVD Menu template using stock images to build the design. I now have a specific image which I only have as a layer in my PSD. I have no clue where to find that image again. Writing wedding in stock websites ends me up with unlimited search. I tried narrowing down all the result but can't seem to find the right image.

A service like this (image recognition) in my opinion would be great, would save a lot of time spent looking for something.

Here is the image I am looking for, if anyone saw it anywhere, please PM me the link :).

IMAGE (i added watermark to protect the copyrights of the image):

I feel like I am posting a WANTED or LOST poster :)

REWARD will go to the creator of the image in the form of Royalties  ::)

Google image search gave this, but not, AFAICS, the original agency.

Some agencies seem to block Google Image Search (e.g.Alamy, AFAIK), and would no doubt block any similar system. iStock allows GIS, but blocks (some of?) the agency comparison sites.

Try Tineye.com when you search for images most of the time it works great! ;)

Edit oops I see the artist was found on istock, but still check out tineye, its good for this kind of thing!

Thanks a lot 9lives.

I wasn't able to find the exact match on iStock, but you guys are really better than me to narrow down the search.

Didn't know about this website (imagedirekt.com)

@Lisa Wow this is the kind of feature I was looking for, how did you do to add the image to the search term? (Maybe having the unwatermarked image would help). This is nice!! :)

Thanks again everyone, got the exact match now thanks to your skills!
