Yesterday I landed a 1 week assignment ( company profile shoot) on possibly the worlds largest and most modern off-shore oil-platform, helicopters and everything.
Bloody lucky really, I know the entire crew there so releases wont be a problem, same as before.
Imagine the stock I will be able to shoot at the same time on this gigantic monster, it stands 210 meter tall and have got small submaries doing scouting works as well.

Seeing you have access to this location that for most photographers would be near impossible to access will you submit it to micro or aim higher ?

I will submit to certain micro sites, RM and RF.

I'm amazed they let you sell anything from a shoot like that as stock.

Property release as well? Model releases aren't much good without a property release from the rig owner, are they?

Hell, no! not anything, no company logos, etc and no classified material. Dont forget its a comission, for them, when Im finished with that, I might get a day for myself.
Well you know, client/relations after some 20 years goes a long way. Thats how I got all my other oil industrial shots and thousands of them. Besides have a look at my port, theres absoloutely nothing that tell where or which company stood for the shots.
Corps like Shell, Exxon, BP, Statoil, have been my clients for almost 20 years.

Yeah I wish but no, I have done these off-shore rigs so many times and sure, its good revenues but as usual you dont get rich.

Last corporate shoot I did, I specified right to use unselected images as stock. Coupled with that was being able to wander around the location for a few days left me with some great selling interior office images and generic architecture. Stock income is getting near to original contract price. Go for it and good grab.

Thanks mate! yep sometimes its incredible what corporate assignments can lead to, as far as stock is concerned.
