So when are you going to start uploading again after the Christmas break?

I stopped uploading 3 weeks ago, now with a healthy back log for Jan, best they land after the 6th.

What do you think?

Me either.  Although I must admit I haven't done much shooting the past couple of weeks.

Me neither, but I have bucket loads of images to submit since SS changed their editorial policy. Submitting illustrative editorial and made a few new face art images.

I hadn't planned to take December off uploading, but with all the Christmas preparations, cooking, shopping, wrapping, singing at church, etc. just didn't find time.

I have some Valentines Day pictures I had better get uploaded soon though, so back to work for me, this coming week...

Bang-images, you stopped too early this year, should have been uploading for one more week.

the second part looks precise.

Never stopped uploading and review times were certainly quicker over the quieter Christmas break.

Have to agree. When I have images, I upload. Anything that can't be seen, can't be sold.

The time to advertise (from a sales and marketing point of view) is when sales are down or slow. That's the worst time to take a break, because it just makes everything worse.

I've taken this advise from a friend that has been on stock for five years now and pulls in a six figure sum!! from a small sub 2000 port.  8).

I think he's right but thought i take the views of others too.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with an underwater film producer.  He said, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take". You can also mix it up a bit and say that you miss 100% of the opportunities you don't take.

If you can just keep shooting and uploading when you can.

I stopped uploading the weekend before christmas and will start uploading agian the first work week in Jan.

Shutterstock (and probably others) rank images by the number of downloads.  New images get a boost so I want my uploads to happen when people are actually purchasing images.

Shutterstock does rank by downloads, but thats only a part of the ranking. 2 weeks old is still new.  When your images come online, mine have already settled in, given we have the same concepts.
