curious - is it just some of the ppl at shutterstock just don't feel like working from home now - because (unheard of) - just had a set of items with about a 90% rejection rate - *never* had that happen before (at most it seemed they stuck to their magical 30% rate)... (complete and utter waste of time uploading to shutterstock it seems right now).

and adobe seems to be a 50% rate (where again, before it was only about 10-15%)...

anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I haven't upload a lot lately but I'm surprised to see editorial images sitting in the review queue for over 3 days now. Is this normal at the moment or what's going on?

Are the photographers who are also potentially suffering major income reduction flooding the stock agencies to offset their losses in other areas?

5-6 days from what I've been reading. I don't have any knowledge or factual data, no theory of why.

Yes, SS high rejections, especially for Editorial. I guess they changed the rules again. I see no change at Adobe personally.

I had that problem about 6 weeks ago when suddenly 90% were rejected at SS. That siatuation lastet about 10 days and then went back to normal.....
I reuploaded the pictures then rejected (something I usually do not do but in this case it were just too many rejected pics to loose) and with the second upload they were approved.
Now everything is back to normal with a rejection rate of 5 or 10 %.

I honestly think there's some language and translation differences but I don't understand why someone who hates Microstock, the whole business and more so Shutterstock, spends hours every day, repeatedly coming here to tell us how bad Microstock is, how the business is dying, and how terrible Shutterstock is.

What useful purpose is there in, day after day, running down all of us and the whole Microstock market? This is a Microstock forum, we're here to discuss the business and market, from our side, and also trying to earn some money.

It's like a little dog, chasing at our heels, nipping and barking. Nothing but noise.

Why is anyone uploading anything at the moment? Sales are so low all new files will just be lost in the deluge due to practically no initial sales to boost them up the rankings.

Well, every forum has its village idiot...

Problem is that person can't stop proving what you noticed is true.

Nothing but personal attacks, one after another. Three minutes apart, is slower than some in the past who could make themselves look like an idiot in a minute or less.

Let me try to be kind. jonbull, no one cares, no one takes anything you write seriously. You come to preach how much you hate us and Microstock, on a forum about and for people who are working at stock and Microstock. You contribute nothing of value. You would be much happier on some forum that hates Microstock where you could be around friends and people who agree with you.

Why are you torturing yourself, reading here when there's nothing you agree with and you don't like us? Go someplace where you have friends or at least people who think like you and agree.

Yes I'm uploading. Often I get busy with other things and I don't. Call it catch up?  :) I can't say, but keeping up with at least something new, once a week, or a few scattered files every few days, can't hurt. Maybe that will help? We don't know, anyone who says they do, is just guessing.

I think your point about files getting lost, or buried as I see it, is very true. Everyone has the same treatment and problems. I don't know what's going to happen in the future. More files, more competition, less sales for each of us as an individual. That we can see and that's what has been happening for years now.

I really never had a problem with the rejection rate on SS. They have started to call things that are the same color, or with a similar design "similar". I have less of a problem with Adobe, but I upload different kinds of images. If you suddenly had a change at Adobe, maybe it's just that subject or something in recent projects you submitted. They have always been picky about content and quality. I mean picky in a good way, making the collection more than numbers and higher value from people who license things.

Bottom line, no I see no change, either place, except SS doing what they should have years ago. That doesn't actually harm me, I used to be more picky myself and used to upload less of anything close to alike. They aren't similar, just same subjects from different vantage points, days or events.

Good luck!

Name calling doesn't help.

I can see Uncle Pete's work I can see who Brightontl is, you can see who am I.

@jonbull, can you please show us some sample work?
Your Stocksy "call to artists" thread samples are very promising.

Can we see some fresh work please?

Interestingly enough - while of course I want (and expect to) be able to make a very comfortable full time living from stock, etc... I am finding it kind of fun even though I know the 'immediate' returns might not be there...

I.e., a few days ago did a mini photo shoot of a specific concept around what is going on now... probably took me 3 hours (purchasing materials, setting up concept, keywording, etc, etc)... but what is cool is I got a 0.33 sale the next day... (I know of course that is virtually nothing - BUT - it's still pretty neat thinking somewhere someone liked my picture enough that they decided to get it)... obviously I hope to get a lot more of those $0.33 sales so they add up, but in the meantime, its just kind of neat :)

Good idea, making the best of things.

Stay at home situation, just sitting, no going out. I've been editing the backlog from last year. Now and then I get "inspired" to edit an old stock photo or make something new. I have thousands of shots from last year and my shoulder is getting sore from editing.  :'(

Wisconsin: "Gov. Tony Evers said Monday he will order the closure of all non-essential businesses starting Tuesday." OK It's Tuesday. The other half has a driving pass, permit and has to show work ID. I don't know how that is opposed to what I read about voluntary. Are they going to pull people over? Or is that in case they start curfews or something stronger.

Three in review at Adobe, uploaded last week, I'll see soon.
