Perhaps this thread should be rethought - I might like it better if people posted only their own high profile placings and/or other peoples images they've run across.

I found the same image in two sites.

In one, it was used to make the company's logo - this requires EL in any agency, right?

In another, it was used to create a new image that is, as far as I understand, freely used.  I suppose this is allowed as it is a derivative work - or not?

Adelaide

Wow, I have never heard of this magazine.  Given its name, I would have thought it was Mexican. :)

Adelaide

Hi Adelaide,

I didn't know about it either. I got the magazine from a brazilian friend from Salvador. :-)
Maybe you know him: http://www.dreamstime.com/Vtupinamba_info

Very cool, who'd have thought Shell used microstock
Maybe Shell doesn't know it.  They probably hire some webdesign bureau for the site design, then only update info internally.

Adelaide

I don't run into my pics too often but on a recent trip, I was killing time browsing through a free magazine and found a full page pic of mine, then turned the page to find another 1/2 page pic.  On the flight, there was another pic i took in an ad :)

Finding that one was not such a warm feeling. I don't believe I sold a license enabling the buyer to put the photo on CD covers for that photo. Or maybe I didn't read the fine prints...
Photo found through tineye.

I laso found an image in a CD cover (it may be here in this thread) and I asked if this was correct without an EL (no answer), as I never sold it as EL.  To me, this and book covers are the kind of use that should require a EL.  People don't buy the CD or a book for the cover, but a good cover does attract buyers.

Adelaide

Sent to me from a friend that lives in Springfield Missouri recognizing it was mine. He took it on his cell and so hardly can see the billboard very well, but he said this was one of like 3 throughout the city. (bottom one with gothic lady)

The model in this was told about this magazine cover and some of these other issues and I never got copies.. which is ok

It is funny that these magazines use stock pics for fake stories and make up characters with them.

Not as sexy as yours lephotography, but Istock just informed me that this one was entered in the designer's spotlight. My photo is the man in wheatfield.
