I hope this isn't a too irrelevant question.
I know of Yuri Arcurs, Kirsty Pargeter and Lise Gagné, but who are the other big names in microstock whose work I should be endeavouring to be inspired by?

Lev Dolgachov, Ron Chapple, Andres Rodriguez. I like also Darren Baker, Elena Elisseeva , Daniel Sroga.

An amazing list, with some very showing results.
I am very much interested in the downloads per image thing.
Currently mine is 4.92 downloads per image. So if I continued to only submit stuff I know will sell, with a portfolio of 3000 images that would be 14760.
I have recently built my portfolio up to 286 images, so that list is very motivating.

Yes I said study, and I certainly do intend to be inspired, but where did I mention my intentions to copy??

No, I did not say that you voiced those intentions, and I'd like to think that you were not planning to do that at all. My comment was for the consideration of future readers of these lists. It is just disheartening to see the trend of some new contributors is to look at the top sellers on a site and try to copy those specific images in hopes of jump starting their portfolios. Of course my asking them not to do it will not change their minds if they already believe that is an okay thing to do.
I meant no offense to you personally and I wish you well in your efforts.

Copy or alike?Itīs a fine line. Iīve had woow moment many times when I had an idea of a great image. Later to find out there is 300 just like it. What do I do? upload it and hope for sales.
Example: Donīt laugh! I thought I was first with the swanheart thing...

I know exactly how you feel, I did a shot of two business people shaking hands, I uploaded it and waited for the big bucks to roll in, imagine my surprise when I discovered..... :D

A very valid statement. Too much duplication of the "Top" list images going on. Which is exactly why I think these lists should be removed. Or there should be an opt-out to prevent your images from appearing on those lists.

In vector graphics greatist is Maisei Raman. Sometimes when I seen his work I must laugh how he is great.

Do any of the copies sell as well as the original? I would of thought lots of copies wouldn't be as good.
