Why these faces do not belong to 'real' people
A pair of algorithms which work together to generate photorealistic faces has been developed by Nvidia.

Which is what? Face morphs and combinations have been around for 20 years or what's the point. It's not new technology? Or that they can take Taylor Swift and merge her face with Miley Cyrus and make a face that looks half like both of them, but not enough for a lawsuit?

Substitute real faces for algo-generated faces in stock photos and there's no more need for model releases!

Chances are they will look very much like someone in the world. Enough to mistake them for the real person. It will be a complete mess.

You'll still need to shoot the rest of the shot, so you might as well get that model release signed, instead of getting "body" property release. Some people actually like being models.
If you want to go full cgi it's possible long ago. Not sure how ability to generate new face is significant here. I can do that with a liquify in photoshop in a matter of seconds.

Yes, and I can do everything that Instagram does with Photoshop. But Instagram is much quicker when I just want a snapshot.

Yes, eventually it will be posible to create entire scenes including characters, proceduraly, in realtime, but we are still not there, nextgen PC games are to watch as a giveaway how close we are to that. But it's still not there.
For simpler stuff, like isolated objects for instance, an experienced cgi artist might be as fast as a photographer. Le5 alone that cgi artist can create whatever he imagines given the time and resources available.
Anyway, what I was saying in this instance is that face generation alone isn't much of a help, you can't just photograph a scene and change faces, you might not neet model relese but probably will need something like premission to change one's face and a screenshot of software as a proof that the face was indeed generated. Unless they change laws about this, which is still posible, laws are pushed by corporations anyway.
